Masal Forest, Gilan

Masal in the west of Gilan is known as a lost heaven between Iranian standing in high status of beauty that has not lost its attraction even in the sight of its residences. Massive forests and extensive grasslands along the permanent rivers have created a very beautiful landscape. The mixture of lush lowlands and mountain forests make for a pleasing contrast with the harsh landscapes of southern Iran, although lynxes, wolves, and bears are said to inhabit these territories.

Mountain climbers and adventures believe that the best time for trekking in Masal Forest is from spring to summer.

Lost heaven

The Lost Paradise is the name of a green area with fine weather in Marvdasht and Kamfirouz County. The real name of the place was “Bostanak Canyon (tang-e bostanak)” which is now famous as the Lost Paradise. Bostanak Canyon or the Lost Paradise is a beautiful valley dragged in eastern-western sides and vertical tall rocks have surrounded it on both sides.

This spectacular area with its beautiful dense trees and rivers full of water catches the eyes of any observer and makes the visitors admire and worship its Creator. It is one of the protected areas in Fars Province.

Dense trees in the Lost Paradise are so much tangled and have created such an alluring roof over the visitors and tourists that seeing sunrise from among the leaves of the trees becomes so difficult.

Laton waterfall

Latun (Barzov) Waterfall is a freefalling waterfall located in the eastern Alborz mountain range and in Lavandavil, Astara County, within Gilan Province of far northwestern Iran. The height of the waterfall is 105 metres (344 ft). This waterfall is known as one of the 30 highest and tallest and the most scenic waterfalls in the world and this waterfall is four seasons.

Shevi waterfall

Shevi or Tale Zang Waterfall is one of the greatest and most beautiful waterfalls in Iran which is located in Zagros Mountains and in Sardash Area of Dezful licated in Khuzestan Province with a little distance from Lorestan Province and between Sartang Shevi Mountains. This waterfall which is the most beautiful waterfall in Iran in some people’s idea is a beautiful and pleasant waterfall which comes from a cave outside and flows in a high defile downwards. This waterfall was registered as one of the national monuments of Iran in 2015. Shevi Waterfall has green and beautiful natures in spring. The best time to visit the Shevi waterfall is in spring (April) when the perfect weather and the green space make it an enjoyable experience. Shevi in Bakhtiari Lori language means tenderness.

 

Margoon waterfall

Margoon (Margun) Waterfall is located in the Fars province of Iran near the city of Sepidan. Its name means in Persian “snake like”.

The height of the waterfall is 70 meters and its width is 100 m. The waterfall is located in the Margoon village, 48 kilometers from the city Ardakan in the Fars province. Margoon is one of the largest and most beautiful waterfalls in Iran. Margoon area is mountainous and has an elevation of over 2,200 meters above sea level. Weather is cold in the winter season. The waterfall can eventually freeze in particularly cold days. The distance from Margoon to Yasooj is 65 km and the distance from Margoon to Ardakan Fars is 48 km. It’s possible to arrive, with car, at about 800 meters from the waterfal and then walking on a paved road with concrete steps.
