Mount Damavand

Mount Damavand stands at 18,410 feet. It is located 75 km south east of Tehran.

Mount Damavand is the 12th most prominent peak in the world, and the second most prominent in Asia after Mount Everest. It is the highest volcanic mountain in Asia, and part of the Volcanic Seven Summits mountaineering challenge.

Damavand is a significant mountain in Persian mythology. It is the symbol of Iranian resistance against despotism and foreign rule in Persian poetry and literature.

Sabalan

Sabalan or Savalan is an inactive stratovolcano in the Alborz mountain range and Ardabil Province of northwestern Iran.

At 4,811 meters (15,784 ft.) in elevation, it is the third highest mountain in Iran. It is also higher than Mont Blanc in the Alps. The mountain offers many attractions throughout the year. On the slopes of the mountain the mineral water from springs attracts large numbers of tourists each year. This inactive stratovolcano mountain is famous for its amazing and wonderful lake on the summit

Ali-Sadr Cave

The Ali Sadr Cave originally called Ali Saadr is the world’s largest water cave which attracts thousands of visitors every year. It is located in Ali Sadr Kabudarahang County about 100 kilometers north of Hamadan, western Iran. The cave has a river flowing through it and most travel through the cave system is done by boat.

Based on evidence within the cave, it was inhabited by primitive people. Its colorless water is odorless and has natural taste. There are no living creatures in the cave’s water and its temperature is 12 degrees centigrade. The water is so transparent that one can see to the depth of 10 meters with the naked eyes and ordinary light.

Namakdan Cave

Namakdan Cave on Qeshm Island is one of the masterpieces of creation. Namakdan salt dome is among natural attractions of Qeshm Island, which attracts a lot of tourists every year. In Farsi, the word “namak” means salt. This cave is the longest salt cave in the world. It is 6850 meters long. According to recent researches, breathing in the caves may be useful for curing asthma.

The underground water, which erupts in the cave, flows on mountain slopes in the form of a salt spring. It piles up in a hole and looks like snow. Elements such as magnesium are also found in the cave.
